Auberge Len

Breakfast time has arrived.

Brown rice flakes and dried fruit with local ranch milk.

Homemade jam and butter.

Acai drink.

You can enjoy a healthy and beautiful breakfast. The flakes made with local milk are more savory than they look and taste as if they have been lightly roasted. Each piece of cutlery lined up seemed sophisticatedly arranged.

Homemade ham and sausage.

The saltiness is just right. The ham has a hint of smoked flavor, and the sausage’s crispy skin is a luxury you can enjoy from the morning.

Salads are prix fixe style

Leaf Salad.
A hearty salad. Both the amount of dressing and the taste are perfect for the morning. The salad is also a dish, as you would expect from an auberge restaurant.

Warm Vegetables in Consomme

Warm vegetables are served in a gentle broth. The soup had a hint of butter and an incredibly deep flavor. I am sure that each vegetable was boiled (or steamed) for a different amount of time so that you could feel the change in tenderness and chewiness.

Soup
I wonder how long it has been simmered. The soup was so deep and sweet that we wondered how long it had been simmering. The speed at which the soup was served was perfect, as if it was made to suit our fast eating habits.

Main dish to be selected

Buckwheat Flour Galette with Fried Eggs
A stylish and exciting dish to start your morning. Crepe dough is most people’s favorite.

Quiche
The tart dough is also homemade as a matter of course, but the crispy tart dough is firmly imbued with the flavor of eggs and butter. It is truly delicious. The quiche is freshly baked and served hot.

Here’s the morning’s big excitement.

A heaping set of “salted butter rolls, croissants, scones, and toast.” All of them smelled so soothingly freshly baked that you would think they were freshly baked. Of course, since you can’t eat them all, you can take them home with you; the style is to offer them as souvenirs, on the premise that you will take them home with you. A special paper bag was provided.

Fresh fruit and yogurt

Fresh fruits are soaked like fruit punch. Elegantly sweet and sour fruit soup. As was the case last night, the vessels used for the sweets are either chilled or room temperature. I was impressed by the attention to detail here….

Auberge, a lodging facility that also focuses on dining, is a rare place that not only offers scenery and hot springs, but also deepens the palate and senses. At Hakone Ren, I was exposed to a number of rarely seen culinary techniques and ideas, as well as an example of the spirit of service. The menu changes with the seasons, so be sure to complete your visit each season.

The Hakone Shrine is located nearby and is a great power spot for a stroll. You will definitely be impressed by the history and the powerful Japanese architectural skills and techniques. The sacred tree on the grounds of the shrine gives off a tremendous sense of sharpness. Be sure to stop by and experience something different from downtown Hakone.

It was a memorable trip because we were able to have the luxury of renting out this inn, which is always difficult to get reservations because of its popularity (no one was staying there but us), a rare experience that will not happen in the future. While we felt sorry because we were staying at the Corona Disaster, we were glad that we went because they were happy that we visited, and we felt grateful for the maximum service and hospitality provided even though we were the only ones staying there.
